Life is a great big canvas and you should throw all the paint on it you can" -Tom Miller. Tom resides in Harper; Texas He is a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin. He attended the Southwest School of Art and Craft, San Antonio. He is currently on the board of the Fredericksburg Art Guild and is a member of the Hill Country Arts Foundation and Die Kastler. He exhibits his work at art shows throughout Texas. While he has attended various art classes, he is basically a self-taught artist. His inspiration for his work is drawn from his experiences in the outdoors and travels abroad and stateside. His real "joy is art on canvas and is a student of the 19th century Impressionist artist. Color plays an important part in the "mood" he reflects through his paintings. His art was selected to represent the 2013 Oktoberfest held in Fredericksburg, Texas. In addition he was featured artist for Western Heritage Month at the OPO Museum and Art Center, Graham, Texas. He was judge for the annual "Who Knew" art exhibit at the Fredericksburg Art Guild Gallery. Some of his favorite artist that he draws inspiration from are Pierre Bonnard and Henri Matisse. One of his favorite quotes from Picasso summarizes what art means to him: Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.
