Like any painter we use the finest of materials, in our case that product is Mother Nature's real flowers. Starting with a multitude of different canvases we paint our scenes with the flowers and leaves that we collect from our gardens. Each piece is unique and one of a kind and cannot be reduplicated, for each of Mother Nature’s plants are unique. We spend many hours in the greenhouse, garden and high country collecting the blossoms and leaves that are pressed so that we can use them to paint the vivid landscapes and floral arrangements. The natural brilliance in these blossoms are due to the fact that our gardens are located at 9,000 ft. in the Colorado mountains, warm days and cool nights make for some spectacular rich colors. All the flowers are pressed in an acid free environment, mounted on acid free papers and foam board with acid free glues and adhesives to ensure that no foreign chemicals will destroy Mother Nature’s delicate pedals. Many of the backgrounds are made of handmade paper or of fine lace to add uniqueness to the floral arrangement. When a particular piece is being created, we start much like an oil painter does. Working from the background to the foreground we paint using real flowers. After a design is complete it is passed through an archival mounting system that applies a quality print guard to the surface of the picture to protect it from UV light and humidity. The final step happens in the frame studio where we have access to hundreds of choices of frames. From contemporary, modern to antique and one of a kind, old window frames to oval frames, we pick the frame that best accents the picture that we have created. With a world of different people and different tastes we create many different pictures to go into many different homes so that all can enjoy Mother Nature’s beauty.
